Hi.
My name is Endre and I am from norway. I have been in the VW`s for about 10 years and have had a lot of cars. As I am beginning to buy online from all around the world I see that many of you sellers think that I am some sort of scam. And I understand. So that is why I have decided to make a thread of my project to maybe do myself a little bit more credible. My english is not the best in the world but i have to try.
It was a light project I thought as I started but as I worked with it I found more and more things to fix.....
First out was to replace both heater channels, then make the rest myself. I am not a great welder so It took some time to do that. Next was to fix all the holes near or around rear innerfender so that took some time.

I guess everybody likes nice wheels so in my head that means fuchs.
I was lucky and got a set of 7x15" and then some in 6x15" so I guess that was a plan. I glassblasted them and polished them and then it was time to try.
I was really satisfied but I have to do something with the rear fender to get some clearence. |

Looks like you're a "Certified Welder" to me! Are those red heater channels your used replacements or your original? They don't look that rusty? Did you replace the pans too? _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Well thanks but I see many people weld much better than me so....
The red is the replacement. Here is a pic of the old...
Here is a before and after pic of the driver side.
The pans were only bad so I fixed the bad stuff and think thats good enough for me. Its going to be a daily not a show winner...
Next up was the floorpan so I got it clean and painted it.
The front beam dismounted (I have a good used one to replace it with)
And at last yesterday I dismounted the rear beam or what you call it. I am going to put on shortened axles to get the clearance for the wheels.
So that is mostly what I have done since february this year. For more pics please visit my site at http://www.srvwk.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?553.0 |

When I started this project I did not think it was going to be that extensive but here we are. A lot of parts beeing rebuilt or just cleaned/painted. But i think I like it when it looks new..... So I had to build a shelf today to get a system in all the parts. And I have to admit that its nice to look at the shelf and see all the nice clean parts.....

The autumn comes early in norway so its time to polish the rest of the wheels. The two 7x15" I did this winter and here are a pic of one polished and one only blasted. Its amazing what water and paper and some secret stuff can do.......
I do not have a pic of the 6x15" but I think everybody knows what they look like

Endre,
All I have to say is, your work is impressive! Here in NM, your Sqbk would be way above the show quality level!
Seriously, great work on your project! _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

Finally got a set of bearings for my front beam. Smith-Lorentz in Germany could help me.
Rear axle beam cleaned and redy to be blasted.
Got a set of short axle tubes so have to blast these also.
One more of the fuchs are polished so only one more left
I am beginning to see an end of all cleaning, blasting, fixing so I am looking forward to start put things together .

Short axles blasted and painted... Working on the rear axle frame from time to time.......
Got some parts from CIP1 this week and started to look at it today. New axle boots checked.....
I have also been searching for new bearings to the front axle beam and finally Mr BerT3 are going to ship the lower ones to me. I got the bearings from my old frontbeam out and could use those..... Will get pictures soon... _________________ SilverBIGL
