I haven't been able to find it through garrett or anywhere else.
its out of a saab 2.3t
marks on compressor housing read:
B.C.1 M27 A/R.48
there is also the number 92 stamped and circled
on the compressor discharge pipe 48 is stamped (i think this is referring to the A/R again?)
waste gate bracket marks: 434 034-1
the compressor wheel measures: 54mm (exducer) about 41mm (inducer, its hard to measure properly with a caliper)
turbine housing marks:27F92
DH2-2 M4 A/R 0.48
S/N: V10935A
P/N: 465 183-5
C/N: 912834
center housing clamp marks: 413977-1
49 is stamped into the inside of the turbine inlet
the exhaust manifold flange is aprox. 3.5"x2.5"
thanks for the help, dylan |

Looks like a Garrett T3 based on the pics and numbers. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

No...
T25 probably, but I need to know the year of the car. Some Saabs had GT series turbos, but I don't think that's a GT. _________________ Build thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212747

For some reason i didn't look at the year when i pulled it, im now kicking myself for that if i had to guess it looked like a late 90's to early 00's.
I'm going to try to go back to the yard and see if the donor is still there but i doubt it will be. I don't think its a GT either, the compressor wheel doesn't match up with any of this years GT's on the Garrett site. I'm going to try calling a Saab dealer tmrw but i doubt I'll have much luck with that.
thanks for the help |

Do some web searching with the part #, some are saying it could be a T28, which is the same family as T25/T2 anyway. It would be the same flange dimensions, so what does your exhaust mounting pad measure? (the last pic you posted)
This is T2/25/28:

shit dude, i guess i didn't look hard enough, all i saw on the garrett site was on the gt series and the old catalogs wouldn't download for me, i wasn't finding anything conclusive on the numbers either, i guess I'll look a little longer next time, thanks again. _________________ Just another freak, in the freak kingdom. |
