The idea to make running boards to my next project has been in my mind for awhile, now I have the first handmade steel sample ready. Material 1 mm sheet metal, rubber fixing strip 0.75 mm.

The master was my 6'52 original running board. Many details to make, strengtheners to edge and fitting side, holes for rubber mat fixing, outer strip for rubber mat fixing (fixed to board by spot welding), middle bracing, curved profil, fitting holes etc.

Sorry for poor pictures, the light is not enough, we have dark winter...

No, we havent had those for a while. The company making them for us wasnt delivering enough quality so we decided to stop selling them. We actually asked them to make better units but we couldnt agree on a decent price for the work that needed to be done. Result, the running boards would be so expensive none would sell.

We should remove them from the website but just didnt get to that yet.

So when these do get to market, is this going to be the same "Repro vs Original" debate as with the fenders?

Nice work Mika. Are those being made on a die, or hand made? Either way, I could use a set for my '51. Looks like nice work!!!

Wonder why they are called "running boards"? When I go jogging I get running board.... Shocked ... Maybe because it's where you can board the car when its running? Somebody stop the voices...please!
