|
|
I just wanted some info on the Hazet 2568. I wanted to know if they're worth having in a toolbox in terms of assisting in a valve adjusment and also whats the going rate for one. I looked around and didn't see any for sale and before I go looking I wondered if they were really a good tool or was I better off with my screwdriver, wrench, feeler gauge method. Thanks for the input.

I have another brand version of it and do not use it. Just too awkward over a wrench and screwdriver. |

I sold one without the adjusting screwdriver for $40. They're pretty hard to come by though. I would've bought the one at Bug Jam if I knew it was $50... One of those, "I'll come back to it later" situations. |

There are 4 versions of the Hazet valve adjustment tool, the 2568, the 2568-1, the 2568-2 and then later the water cooled 2568. If you have the right one for a bus it fits just fine between the frame rail.
I use my 2568 and love it. It makes the job much easier.
You can also get a chain saw tool called a "scrench" which is a screw driver and 13mm socket all in one. I have seen folks use this for valve adjustments.

I have both the 2568 and the 2568-1, and even though the -1 is longer, it's the only one I have ever used because I bought it first. Works fine on a bus or a bug. You still have to get used to it just like you did when trying to use a wrench and a screwdriver combo for the first time. I don't know if its 'better' because there is still a little bit of slop on the slotted screwdriver part versus the adjuster so i find myself putting ever so lightly reverse "pre-load" on it when tightening if that makes sense, but it's still a neat tool. |

If anyone has the Hazet 2568 valve adjustment tool to sell, I would be happy to pay $50.00 for it in good condition. |

FYI: $50 is pretty low for this tool these days based on recent ads I have seen.
I agree with the people above though - they are sort of useless.
I sold the last one I had after finding out it was harder to use than a screwdriver and box wrench _________________ How to Post Photos
