For those unfortunate souls that have never attended BC or HO, and can justify the time and expense of only one or the other, which one is the one not to miss?
How are they similar or diffferent?
For the untimate in vintage VW swaps, shows, crusing, partying, etc. which one is better? |

it is really difficult to say, HO has it's own charme with the programm and the town itself.
bad camberg is more compressed to the centerplace i think but also not to miss. both are spectacular, and there is always a long gap between the meetings so both are neccasary _________________ www.oval56.com

It would be unfair to the organisers to make a competion here about the best meeting. I think the BC and HO teams are doing a great job, both events are of a very high quality and not to be missed.
Bad Camberg is the oldest of the two, and has a very good reputation. However, some have have critized the last event in 2007 for admitting lowered cars on the showground, causing the event to loose some of its authentic charm. If the organizers manage to find a solution for this problem, I’m quite sure BC will be back on track again. Last edition of HO has proved that pure original Vintage VW’s are still the most appealing to those visiting a ‘Veteranentreffen’.
I’m very confident this 9th edition of BC will be one of the highlights of the 2011 season. Good luck to the team and see you all there! |

No doubt, HO is the best ! more cars , more parts, Grundmann collection !
Bad Camberg is second best !
But I'll be there in 2011 if my health is good enough !

Hello,
thanks for the nice worlds - but we are NOT duing a competion here.
We work together with the Lottermann familie and we both try to make a nice show for us all here.
Be happy that all 2 years is a special show for vintage cars !

B.C. is in... Bad Camberg - June 2011 (+ 2015, 2019,....)
and H.O. is in... Hessisch Oldendorf - June 2013 (+ 2017, 2021,...)
I'm sure you will find your way to both events

Not trying to establish a competition at all. Just trying to understand how the shows are the same or different.
Sounds to me based on the comments so far, that the vintage purest would want to have HO as a first priority and the VW enthusiast with interest for all types of VW's OEM and otherwise would have BC as theirs.
How do the swaps compare?
How about the other related sight-seeing things? The Grundmann collection looks fantastic, I don't know much about Lotterman.
How about lodging opportunities and transporation between the site and an airport? Seems like HO has a train nearby?
I'd love to be able to someday get to both, but for us working stiffs in the US pouring all our descretionary money into resurrecting old VW's, it will have to be one or the other for now.

I agree. Right now I would like to check into one or the other and everything that you mentioned are very good points on deciding which to choose from. _________________ 58 Coral Red ragtop(Diana's car)

Well then, if it would be a once-in-lifetime experience and If I reallly, really had no other choice then to choose between both, it would definitely be HO. |
