Ok, after months of back and forth communication, selling off some of my collection and with the help of theeeeee man Notchboy himself (Major Props!), I have my bus.. and I am in love!!
The production date is September 6th 1968. The Clipper-L package was a unique package that was only available in Europe. This bus does not have an export code and therefore was bound for somewhere in Germany. I believe the bus was purchased by someone in the Air Force at Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City, TX and brought back to the United States; I have found a few pieces in the bus to help confirm my theory. The last owner is still alive so I will be contacting him soon. The bus has been sitting down in Texas in a non-operated state since 1984.

I wanted to share the restoration of this bus and it's new life with you. I can't tell you how happy I am to own it!

Remanants from the previous owner. Old Milwaukee!!!!!!!!! There was one label stuck to the driver's side middle window.

San Antonio Aeronautical Charts from the previous owner. There was also an FAA study guide for private pilots. Not to mention, a few pages from a personal journal, and a letter from home talking about a stereo given for the new bus and some student loan info.

Cool find. And with both sets of bumper trim and full jailbar set still intact!

Now that you have the bus, put together a full list of what you need clipper wise, and I'll let you know if I find it in the bus we talked about.

Seats from those buses in case you're interested: Though the middle is a full length.

Thanks guys!! I think this one's going to get down to a bare shell restoration. I have already talked to a few friends about doing the metal work. I don't expect for it to happen all at once, so I have started to collect resto parts over the past few months. I will have to sprawl out all the new parts and post a pic of all the goodies for the bus! I will be sure to post all updates!

Nice! Clippers are cool around here, don't really see any. I would do a full restoration if you have the time/money/patience for it.

Does anyone know anything about this style of indicator lights; they are different then all my other early bays?

I also just called the gentleman who last owned my bus. I believe it was his wife answered the phone. She said that she would have him call me; he is 81 years old and living in San Antonio, TX. I hope he has some pictures of the bus, and some great stories to tell! Very Happy It maybe time to plan another trip to San Antonio!

AAAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I think I laughed for a solid hour after reading this! ahha... Looks like I'm an early bay pervert! hahaha.. I'm ok with that!

I did get all the goodies and red gas cap, thank you! The bus is safe and sound! I'm going to throw the seats in it tomorrow. I can't wait to get it over to my friends house where it will get a good cleaning, the paint buffed and will maybe try to start the old girl.

I will post clean photos when I get some.

Thanks guys!
Notchboy.... the motor in it was locked up! Therefore John was off again on the value of it! haha. I "luckily" stumbled upon another engine by accident that will get me running for a while.

I also locked in the correct rear Clipper seat! All I need to do is find a nice luggage bar to complete the rear seat and BLAMMMO! This bus "just" might see a show this season!

Crazy ad stuck to the bottom of the rear seat cushion on the bus. Don't worry, I'm saving it for the build log.

I sprayed it down with penetrating fluid, let it sit for a few days and nothing... damn thing is locked tighter than Fort Knox.. I need to figure a way out to get it open.
