I'll have to snap a pic. I meant to the first trip last week but to excited and I forgot. I pull a 14' Dolphin sailboat. It looks so cool with vanagon and sailboat rolling. People sure give me a look going down the road! Shocked

I'll get a pic one day soon as well. Towed a small trailer that I have set up for our kayaks. It was just a test...worked well.

Brian.

Not the most legal trailer to tow, but it got the job done.

Picked up this Coleman VersaTrailer about 2 weeks ago, and just finally installed my hitch and wiring system for the lights. Trailer is only 200# and the van pulls her easily. I'm thinking of repainting it, but can't decide, it's already in such great shape. The top pops up like the camper, or comes off completely. The two tailgates fold down, making it useful for just about anything, including motorcycles, bikes, cargo, etc...

This 'guy' was going to tow a matching Reeve trailer but I have reconsidered and will most likely go with a rooftop bag that I already have and/or bike rack or platform. Decided towing would be just too much for me. There are lots of great pics in the threads of things/styles of towing.

50 Kafer - Thanks for the post on those brochures - I have the 2nd one, but that not the one on the 1st link. That brochure looks much better! I love this little trailer..I wish I could find that the tent kit or wooden siderails!

hero419 - Sure is! I love their beer Very Happy

I'm thinking of painting the trailer, and was considering coating the entire bottom portion in black Line-X and painting the top white. I remember seeing a thread on here where a guy painted it to match and it looked great!

Some of these bigger rigs really amaze me...can't believe an 86hp Vanagon would tow a sailboat, horse trailer, etc...

Anyone ever had any towing horror stories?

Most towing horror stories have little to do with the power of the tow vehicle, most have to do with the stability and/or stopping power.

I covet a West Wight Potter sailboat to tow around behind my Vanny, but wouldn't have been comfortable doing so before upgrading my brakes. and adding a better transmission cooler for my automatic.
