Yes, that does look very nice. If it were closer, I'd consider it even though I generally would prefer a sedan to a squareback. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

My wife is so disinterested in my hobby that she cannot tell them apart as long as they are a VW and the same color. I currently have one Notch and two T34s, all white. I used to also have a late body white Notch. She has no idea how many I have even though they each are quite different. I just shuffle them around from different storage spots, only keeping one at a time at home in the garage.
I have often joked that I would like to see the look on her face if I died first and she finds out about the size of the collection. _________________ Rick Christensen

These amuse me:
"the motor does turn but does not start (just needs a new fuel pump)".
Uh, then fix the stupid pump and sell a running car, for God's sake. |

I know it's not a link for one for sale, but a friend of mine has a 1977 that has a great body, motor looks good, but doesn't run. Said it ran fine about 5 years ago, then just stopped. I'm sure I can get it running as long as it wasn't toasted, just wondering if it's worth the $2500 he wants. Interior is fair, of course the dash is cracked as hell. I'm familiar with Beetles, Ghia's, Things, and mostly Buggies, but I'm wondering what to look at with the 412's.
Of course I'm wanting to get the best deal, but I do know him and want to give him a fair offer also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First off, 1974 was the last model year for the Type 4. Just by your description, the car isn't worth $2500. It doesn't run for an unknown reason, and it needs work. The front end will need work most likely. Post pics of it if you can. _________________ 1970 Campmobile Click to view image

Ok, without doing any research, I thought 1977 was a little high. I really hadn't looked them up at all when I talked with him about them.
Actually, it's already on here, as I just realized. It's the one on Craigslist in Greenville, SC (about an hour from me). I didn't realize he had posted it. Pictures are in the link. _________________ -(Loretta) Manx # M2940D910E on customized 1970 chassis by Joescoolcustoms

It looks like it has the '74 aluminum bumpers. No pictures of the engine though.

The motor is all there, and doesn't look like it's been messed with. Based on the photos, what would be a fair offer in your opinion? I really know nothing about Type 4's. _________________ -(Loretta) Manx # M2940D910E on customized 1970 chassis by Joescoolcustoms

If you like it than $2000-$2300 and tow it home. If it ran he would want twice that price. I believe 19super73 gave more than that for Tram's 412. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

If anyone is looking for a 412 in the Northern Nevada area, I know of a lady who has one in her backyard. I went there to help a friend pull out an older muscle car, and I couldn't help but ask about it. She doesn't really seem to know what she's got. I don't know the exact address, but I know where it is. It would need bodywork and unknown motor work, but if anyone is interested, I am sure I can help. Might be worth it. _________________ 1969 Type 1 Autostick - Roulette
