hello,
I am soon going to have my windows resealed and rust repaired around them. I am not yet ready for the full repaint, but plan to have the area around from beltline to roofline painted while the windows are out. i would like this to be the first step in a full repaint and hope to not have to remove my windows again when that happens. My question is on paint type. Color plus clearcoat seems the cheaper and simpler option, but in my heart single stage seems the way to go. Any advice on this or any other information to help me with this step is greatly appreciated.
Thanks _________________ 1973 Westy Tintop |

Single stage paint is less expensive. I would use the single stage and see how it comes out. Thats a good plan to do the top above the belt line while the windows are out. No need to take out again when you are ready to paint the rest.

Thanks. Does anyone here know how to say "single stage paint" in spanish? It has become a bit hard for me to get across to my mechanic.

I can't help you with the Spanish. I just had my bus painted with single stage. I think base coat/clear coat doesn't look correct on old cars. _________________ 1978 Transporter 2.0 FI, BA6

PpG bought a large paint facility in Mexico a few years back; pull up a part number for a single stage and go the Mexico site with a part number to match _________________ .ssS! |

Pintura de una sola etapa. No capa base / capa transparente
Single stage paint. Not base coat/ clear coat. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

Indeed, and it's so much easier to fix or blend later too. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
