I just got back from the NYC car show and most everything was the same with the exception of my new dream car the new Microbus of which of course is not in production yet. What was really cool was that they had the prototype there to see but 10 feet away Crying or Very sad

Sorry to say I forgot my camera cell phone and couldn't take photos but I found the bus from the show online looks exactly like this. Yes it is not our bus but I liked how the interior looked and all the seats fold down flat.

Couldn't figure out where to put this post I hope this was OK Everett.

Is that really how we are supposed to pronounce Bulli?

I don't think I would call it a bus, but it's neat nonetheless.

Sad but true, I haven't been able to get information as to if VW will actually mass produce anything like this but looking at the seats they have got to change because in time they look like they would be very uncomfortable, hum maybe they are memory foam?

#1 It's not a Bus.

#2 Bring the T6 over here and be done with it!

#3 VW is going to produce, theoretically-speaking, that thing and sell it in the States right next to the Golf, Tiguan, Touareg, and Routan, but yet they refuse to bring the new Golf Cabrio here because of the Eos and NBC (or is it NNBC)? Eh? d'oh! Not talking

Talked to my official VWOA man-in-the-know yesterday.
That "bus" spotlighted in Geneva will not come to the States.
There will be a VW Microbus in the future taking over for the Routan.
Microbus will look more like the previous prototype and will be coming from the Chattanooga, TN factory.

Several automotive magazines have published that der Bulli is coming stateside. Further reports indicate that production models will eschew the front 'uncomfortable looking' bench in favor of a pair of conventional bucket seats. Think Scion Xb with a cut-off nose. I'd buy one anyway. I see it as a Jetta wagon with a short snout.

Doubtful that VW will bring any of the REAL Transporters here because just cannot get price competitive with what's in the market now. We're Mercedes Sprinter pricing. An inquiry told me it would cost roughly $38K for a basic T5 when it was new. Assuming you could manage to get around import rules, there's still that hefty 'chicken tax' of 25%. You could bring it in as a plush people mover to get around that. VW probably figure most people would buy something like the Sprinter instead.

That is anything but a microbus. Crossover, minivan, maybe.
