Wondered if anyone has run one of the aluminum beams without using the torsion springs and run coilovers instead?
Really what i was thinking was making a wider aluminum beam for a street buggy or even Sandrail and that coilovers might be better, easier, and wouldn’t have the need for 2 sets of torsion springs to cut in half. _________________ Forced induction can overcome a lot of obsticles that gets in it's way

From what I understood they break the shock mount is not designed to take the force and weight. |

The shock mounts crack where they meet the upper torsion tube. I have seen it happen… even without coil overs.
Those were never made to support the weight of the vehicle, just to hold normal shocks.
They seem to last just fine on soft ground like the sand dunes, but trail riding is a different story. My buddy went through two of them until he switched back to the stock steel beam on his trail rig. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

I run coil overs only but it is a Warrior beam which is built for that. |
