A member informed me they sent $400 for the complete vehicle but feels they have been scammed.
Buyer beware.
They are banned from the site.

As the saying goes, "If something seems too good to be true, it usually is!" Yep, I am the one who was scammed but when one thinks about it, what better place to scam unsuspecting people than on a site where the goods offered fetch a good price. All one needs to do is offer stuff at an unrealisticly low price and people will scramble for what is being offered, just to save some money.
The scammer I got duped by was from southern British Columbia, Canada and claimed that he was not very experienced with the internet. He also claimed the vehicle he had was on a piece of property he had just bought and wanted to get rid of it. As a high pressure sales tactic, the guy pleaded to have me buy his car because he was getting so many emails and he didn't want to have to deal with them.
In retrospect, I should have known better. There are lots of reputable and honest vendors on The Samba and I have had the pleasure of dealing with a number of them with very positive experiences. Unfortunately, though, there is always that small element that is present to take what they can get and they don't care who gets hurt or for how much. The more the better they might say. No thought to the person from whom they steal.
The point of all this, be careful when you buy something from new members, especially, because they have not been around long enough to prove themselves. That does not mean that one shouldn't buy from new members, just be sure that what is listed isn't just "too good to be true". Just sayin'. |

| Me too. He gave me the sob story that his son had passed away and left this stuff. He was just trying to get rid of it. Said he had 17 emails in the last 20 minutes. I got the scam alert just after I paid, but I wasn't fast enough to cancel the transaction. Too good to be true, most times.... yes. ;( |

| not a reply, nor any contact since payment was made. I've been scammed. The authorities are involved and they're working on tracking him down. I don't expect $$$ back, but want to stop him from screwing anyone else! |

| I was hoping no one else got scammed and so I am sorry you got rooked, too. Good for you that you have involved the authorities. How did you go about doing that? Maybe I should do the same so that the police know that you aren't the only one. Good luck in catching this guy! |

I emailed him as the area he advertised it in is only a hour from me. The the area he claims to be in. Thought it was legit myself..... Add was up since April....
We'll see what happens..... The community he claims to be in is a really really tiny (as in less than 200) people.There is no law presence there for a couple hours away. Its a tight knit community and everybody knows everybody and there business , I'll make a inquiry to a local I know there on the off chance he lives there. |
