Found it listed on here a few months back, but it was in a barn. It is a 66 Deluxe (Sept. 1965) that was converted to a camper by Bowman and Sons at some point. As of today I'm leaning towards keeping it a camper and customizing the interior.
Going to keep it patina for a bit, while I finish my 914 restoration. Then, I think I'll repair the rusted bits and go with Pearl White and Mouse Grey.

Looks like a respray on it already. Bowman & Sons was one of the worst of the camper kits, I'd ditch it too. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

I find it interesting that Bowman would start with a deluxe AND one with all the popouts. Those bumpers look like good trading fodder. The respray at least appears to be very true to Sea Blue. _________________

It definately was repainted at some point. It also appears to have been hit on the passenger side rear quarter. The color looks pretty close until you hold up the inside of the deck lid to it. |

Nope. It was in Texas. The seller moved from Colorado a few years ago. The Bus was originally sold in California in 65. I'm not sure how long it was in Colorado, but the paperwork I have shows at least 20 years.
I have a couple pictures from the seller of it in the barn.

Awesome bus, I wouldn't repaint it either, but like the previous person stated, it's your bus. _________________ 62 Standard Type 2 (Nothing Fancy)

Been working on getting it cleaned up a bit more. I had Pat at Vee W Unlimited build me a 1776 and rebuild the trans. I ground out a bunch of filler from the passenger side rear corner, and started the interior.
Painted the wheels too.

Where did you get the paint mixed for your repair. Did you use a code? If so which one?

Score! Nice Bus.
Do you have any plans to sell the old interior panels? Please PM me if so. _________________ "OG = Original German" -- TheSamba.com dictionary |

Yup. I have all interior panels except for the passenger side next to the rear seat. It was cut up for some kind of vent. Some are in very good shape, while the others have remnants of glue on them.
Heading to Greece today, so I may not be able to answer any other questions for a couple weeks.

Really nice bus.
I'm interested in the height of the plywood seat an the thickness of the foam. I want to change mine up and am interested in the dimensions.
Thanks,

If you're in Greece, Athens?, ask around to find the auto parts section of town. They are not like USA. Parts have been removed and stored in shops and basements. They have tons of old parts stashed away! |

I'm gonna take a stab and say close to Loveland as that's where Vee W-Unlimited is located. _________________ Special Thanks to:
