The day we came home with it. My new $1000 high school ride. Lucky dog, lucky dog...

Long hair, driving a VW, hand-painted sunburst on hood, rainbow in back window... yeah, I got pulled over a lot.

Nice Beetle. What year is it? Looks to be something around '62, which is what I had, but about 11 years earlier.

A little later, a USA '67.

My brother had a Euro '67. I repainted mine to the original zenith blue, which matched his original paint. So we had two "cousins but not twins" with our pair. His had the nice Ghia front discs (and the 8-lug wheels to match). Mine had 12V, 2-speed wipers and 4-ways.

He eventually sold his, and mine was stolen (probably by a nasty neighbor). Finding these old negatives and scanning them brought back old memories...
