My friend (hes not local) tells me he has a shed 12' wide 16' deep (9' high walls) with double doors measuring a 72" (6') when open. He says he has no problem going in or out. Anyone else have this set up? HE exaggerates from time to time....hoping someone here would know or have a pic. I want to build a shed just for the VW (running out of room in garage) and if I can get away without buying a roll up door and just construct a 6' double door opening, ill do it. Thanks

I have a 59. as it measures it should work......but is it a hassle?

I have rolled my bug through 6' doors, though the fenders were off. Tight. Not sure I'd want to do it often or by myself

What's your exact measurement in width as yours sits now?

I wouldn't take a chance on a 6 ft door opening even if it fits there is no room for error , instead I would build 2 4ft door that swing open , Shed style doors for 8ft clearance .

The deck on my trailer is 6' wide. I've rolled my 57 with 1.25" wider rear fenders and a wide Bugpack flip front end on it a few times. It's tight but doable. But I gotta pay attention to everything when loading.

If you're building it from scratch, I'd go wider even 7' would be lots.

I would be more concern with the width inside the shed since you will need to get in and out of the car to drive it
how much room inside will you have to open the door

12' wide will be plenty to get in and out , that leaves 3' on each side if centered more if moved to one side ..

Thanks everyone, Im building a 14x20. I was trying to just save quite a bit on the roll up door and build typical 72" double doors(I really don't like going bigger than that on swing doors) Plus it looks a little nicer..... I may just quit being a pud and do an 8' roll up. already spent $300 for 4 windows Smile

get this kit for the door then you won't have to worry about the doors being to big
it has a adjuster on it to help keep it from sagging over time and adjust the sag out of it if it does sag after a few years
