Well after over 5000 miles of testing which has ranged from racing in Baja, return trip from Cabo and now a quick cruise over to Buffalo NY that Manxter DualSprt Baja Edition has received its first First Place Trophy
We had to Drag Race with a Truck
Get directions from some Old Guy in a Yellow Manxter
Stopped at some Arch looking thing
Took our top off in some National Park
Went to the Top of some place Called Pikes Peak
Hang out with chicks in checkered pant
Sweet it out in 110deg heat when the Air Con stopped working Grrrr
Shake hand with some other guys who like Orange
Meet up with some other DualSport and Kick-Outs in Mexico
And of course hang out with some other mad ass buggy dudes
All in all I think it is now fair to say that the guys who put into the build have achieved what they set out to do and that was build a Real DualSport Vehicle which was just as happy to Race Baja as it was to cruise down the Interstate safely.
Anyway thanks again to everyone who gave us support and if you want any feedback on the products we used please ask. I will be doing up full reviews and posting as we go and I am VERY HAPPY to say that with the exception of few small items mentioned in the build threads I will be using the same suppliers in all future builds without change.

Thanks guys, she has left Buffalo now and is on its way driving back across the country in time to be back in Valley Center to get its tires changed, and load up the family for the Big Bear Trip the day or so after.
Todd sent me some more pictures of it getting Wings before he left ..
One of the changes we did following Baja was swapped out the dash for a set of more standard gauges to allow the fitment of the dash vents. The race dash with data logging etc isn't really needed now she ain't a race car. The Data logger had 2567 miles on it when I pulled it out.
Anyway it left the shop with under 1 mile on it and as at today here it is .
Not a bad shake for a guy who had never driven a Manxter before and is still on the wrong side of the road
With just over 6000 miles on here now following the 30 day build I guess we should think about giving her a service |

Sure no problems, first we should start with a purchase price and those details will be revealed at the ManxClub Big Bear Event. www.bajaedition.com
With the DSBE running an average of 28 MPG that would mean it has used around 126 gallons, so with a 24 gal tank Todd could be onto his 6th tank since he left .... I will be interested to see full figures when it returns.
It could mean that you can go across the USA on under 200 Gals of Fuel with a smile on your Face |
