Hey folks just wanted to share what I got going on for the Frankin bug this year.
Actually just excited and waiting on more goodies to show up in the mail
Taking Frank into the 21st century with a new EFI set up! Its going to be a crank fired sequential fuel and spark with individual cylinder trim and a Ms3PRO ecu with a CAN egt monitoring and reporting per cylinder EGT,CHTand AFR. Mocked up how the intake will be and installed the serpentine crank trigger package from VW Speed shop. Seems like it will all fit with the previous intake set up I had. may even get a little tool box and cooler shelf above the engine Cool Here is some before and current pictures for your amusement Enjoy

eight years ago I installed a MegaJolt system on my first VW engine hoping to overcome some problems I was having with it. I had to take a crank trigger wheel off something else and try to bolt it to a regular VW pulley. It woulda been nice to have a fancy setup like what you have right there. I still have it all. I decided I didn't need the Dizzy anymore so I took all the guts out of it and made a mount off the top of it to hold the ford coil pack. It all didn't look so great but it did work. Increase my spark power but I think my real problem was a Webber Progressive carb I had.

I'll be watching to see how it goes for you.

does this still use the stock dzzy and coil or do you have a coil pack to put on yet?

Very nice! You do realize that the proximity of the intake & the header begs to be connected by a turbocharger, right?

Hi ya ORANGECRUSHer Sadly I haven't received the new LS2 coil packs and wires yet Crying or Very sad Waiting on a wire harness to get built and most of the other EFI pieces will be sent out with it. Will still need to chase down the 4 CHT, EGT and the Lc-2 Wide Band Sensors Gonna have to wait another payday or two though. But that's OK cause I have some other things I wanted to do to do to the car as well this winter. Here's a teaser pic of the coils and distributor replacement cause you asked about them

Evening TCTDI Ya that would be the next illogical step for a immature old red neck to take. The ECU intake and engine sensor choices should be quite friendly to that scenario if a fellow was to get an inkling. Wink But that will have to wait for next year as I want it to be runner this spring Had so much fun running around most any where we took a notion this past summer in Frank

drivers side shot you can see the crank-evac in the exhaust I'm going to try out. The idea is the exhaust pulls crank case pressure and vapors out by a venturi effect and has a one way flapper valve in it . I will plumb this into the CSP oil box. I have a sand seal but think i will need a sealed dip stick if it is to pull any negative crank case pressure We shall see how well this works

Some day I will likely do a similar setup, but for now I'm still playing around with carbs/ignition boxes trying to perfect that combo Laughing Did all the stuff come as a kit from somewhere, or how did you know what to buy?

Also, no filter on your full flow setup?

Hi Bashir52 learned it all right here on the inter web Laughing Actually i have just read a lot and asked questions then kind of followed what others have done. First purchased throttle bodies and crank trigger serpentine belt set up from VW Speedshop. Then spoke to Mario at The Dub shop and purchased the MS3PRO ecu , CAN-EGT sensors, fuel pump ,regulator and wiring harness package. the LC 2 wide bands picked up at a local performance shop. The full flow is just disconnected as i have removed and installed motor a couple of times figuring where i want to install all the parts. you can just see the filter and hose under drivers side fender. there si also no oil in motor right now.

OK guys and gals got some progress done. Got car started after some wiring and set up troubles. Was able to take it for a test drive and it seems real torky Very Happy Right now I can see and log the 4x CHT and 4x EGT but having trouble bringing up the 4x AFR meters. I have Mario from The Dub Shop helping me out and he could not bring it online either so he is investigating it. So i put in a temporary general AFR gauge post collectors thats the wire tied to outside of the car. At least i can see the AFR now and get some tuning done. Right now it is very rich at idle and then goes leaner at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle so had to take it pretty easy on it. Sad Was able to take some very good data logs for my tuning guy.
So should have a new tune in a day or two. Put a new muffler on it and it sounds great. Also moved jack to rear bumper and made a shovel/axe holders from some alum tube I found at work. Took a fair amount of weight of the roof rack and left space for the canoe paddles {I transport my fishing canoe up there} Anyways on to the pics there is also a crappy you tube vid from my iphone. This thing is going to be a blast this year Will update next weekend with new a tune and hopefully some in car video and a video of the tuner studio doing it's thing stay tuned. Stay tuned and enjoy

Ok guys not much here but progress just the same.
So headed out to the farm with new rear brakes and a new tune on the computer. Loaded new tune into car and went to set up Go Pro so i could get some footage of a fuel injected run for you guys. Go Pro battery was dead. Oh well will have to do with out Crying or Very sad
Started and warmed it up as in video's NICE. Starts easily and idles ok but too rich.
Headed up black top road seems very powerful AFR readings a little askew rich in the bottom and going leaner than i would like up top. WOW this seems good and I like where it is going THIS THING IS GOING TO BE A BEAST. So tore up black top and back then turned onto the old cow trail where most of the testing occurs. Things seem to be going well lots of power hit a couple of whoops look in the mirror and lots of smoke? Shut it down and check.
" SOUND OF HAND SMACKING HEAD" It seems that when I moved the remote oil filter over 2" to gain some room for the fuel rails I managed to put it in the way of the rear brake caliper on heavy compression of the rear suspension. Dented and punctured oil filter and broke oil filter mount. Embarassed
Now I'm set afoot with a fairly lengthy walk ahead of me. GEEZ I dislike it when beast or machine forces me to put my feet to work even though it's my own fault Mad Walked back got pick up truck and towed her home. Was able to get a decent Data log for my tuning guy {not as long as I would have liked. Embarassed }
Picked up a new oil filter ,new remote mount and some oil. Fixed the carnage with a safer remote oil filter location , cleaned up the spewed oil from motor and suspension and put on new pads and rotors.
Now its Sunday afternoon and I'm back to where i was on Friday Confused
On the positive side my tuning guy has sent me a new tune but i received it to late and was already headed home all beat from drinking beer giggling and putsing on the car all weekend. So will have to wait for next weekend unless I can sneak out there mid week. CAN'T WAIT Stay tuned
