Many years ago my friend and I each purchased FiberTech frames. We had stock link pin beams and it was very stiff. I think we removed two leafs from each beam, and tacked small pieces of the not-used leafs to maintain the square profile at the ends and middle. Better, but it still rode a little high. Then we cut the lower beam and welded it where we wanted the buggy to sit. Still driving well after 40 years.

I tried just one torsion spring on the front beam and it wasn't enough spring or height for my buggy. I hope you better luck. I'm considering coilovers.
