This car is still very new to me so trying to correct some wiring issues…sloppy people and a few things need re-wiring.
Is this the harness for the reverse lights? The wires on the transmission switch are missing and there’s no wire or inline fuse running from the coil.
1971 Super Beetle. Thank you

Yes, that's the connector that goes to the reverse lights. You'll have to add the other wires you noted in your original post (i.e. a wire w/ inline fuse from coil to backup light switch on transmission, and another wire from that switch to the backup lights terminal in your picture).

Thank you

Single wire from coil thru 8amp fuse along top of fan housing routes with Gen/Alt wiring then around fan housing (YELLOW)

Then 2 wires thru grommet in front engine tin to reverse switch (GREEN)
If you don’t have grommet, slip between engine tin and front engine bay seal.

The return wire from reverse switch then goes to wiring “T” feeding both backup lights (RED), which are behind front tar board.

Good Luck

Official factory wiring diagram for 1971 Super Beetle is shown here:
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiring/bug_super_8_70.jpg

Wire sizes (in mm˛) are shown for each wire on the diagram. Wiring for the backup lighting circuit seems to show 1.5 mm˛ size for the wiring you're wanting to add, which roughly corresponds to 16 AWG (I think - you may want to double check on that).
