Check out this Type III motor I'm getting ready to install in a '72 fastback for a customer...
The Oxyboxer version will be out this Spring... I'll be offering Turn-Key motors and "kits" based on a Modified Wasserboxer case.
Replace that Type IV in your late bus.... Put in some power / reliability

Nice motor. You think the 36 del are big enough? I have a set of 36 dels and want to put them on a 1776 with 040 heads 40x35 valves. I got an old Norris cam, 407S.
280 dur 450 lift. 107 lobe ctrs. You old timers remember Norris? Im looking for around 7000 rpm. Not sure the dels will flow enough. Any comments or advice will be appreciated. I had this engine for 15 years. Brand new in boxes. Just getting around to building it and Ive been out of touch for that long.

Yes the 36's should be plenty... They will actually out-flow/out-perform a set of 40mm Webers.
This thing is designed to have a flat torque band... The heads will flow 100 percent (aprox) of the intake system... 42mm intakes, mild cam, logically sized exhaust... AIR SPEED
Those are Berg Type I shorty intakes... 39mm bores... The Deck is getting raised in this vehicle to clear
Purists don't cry Please... This vehicle is being brought back from the dead anyway.
I just got done welding / surfacing / porting the exuast system... It will get vacume venturi / crankcase breather. I'l post more pics when that's done.

Thanks Joe. If I were in Oregon Id be happy to let you work the engine case over! Im in Las Vegas Nv and I havent got a clue who does engine work on VW's here. I put up a new post and hope I get some info. As far as the Dell's go, I need rebuild kits. If you got'em let me know.
Thanks,
Rob |
