Hey Spooky,

The desert has become the place to live. Alot of you Californians are selling off those 50-70's, 3 bedroom 2 bath 1500sq ft, houses around OC and SF for $800-1million, moving here, buying one house to live in and a second house for rental, appreciation speculation. Then working at Home Depot or some other meaningless retail 9 to 5.

The average price for a used house in the Phoenix area has gone from 150 to 200 in the past 6 months.
In August I picked up a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1800sq ft for 265. The house next door sold this week in less than 24 hours for 495. I can buy lots of buses for that kind of equity.

Also, the surrounding areas...20 to 50 miles out of town....land prices and houses have gone nuts....from speculators banking on the continued sprawl...there are master planned communities in the smallest, hottest, poorist (used to be anyway) shit hole towns.

If I did not already live here and invest here....I'd be moving to New Mexico.

VWJOSH, take some advice.....clean up the buses and sell them....move on to better condition cars....clean them up and sell them....eventually build up a cash stock pile and buy property....once your have a home of your own....buy a few more clean up and sell, continue the cycle, each time put money aside for property. YOU WILL NEVER GET RICH RESTORING CARS or trying to get everyone running/driving. You can get rich with property....then the cars can become a hobby instead of the current debt causing passion they are now.

95K and now 145K   . Those days are long gone here in SoCal you can't even get a 1 bed 1 bath studio for that much. 130K was my down payment on our 600K little 5Bed 3Bath house with tiny ass back yard !!! :( :( the house itself is a comfy 2580 sq. ft tough. I can't imagine moving out of SoCal I'll just have drift into the ocean when Cali breaks off the main land . :D :D

600K - holy crap... for a 5 bd. 1/2 that will get you a very nice Victorian-style with an extra lot in the high-end Lockerbie district of Indy.

You guys are making me want to move even farther from California than I already have. Some of you probably put down more for a down payment then I plan on spending for my whole property.

Flipseat Sat Apr 23, 2005 4:41 pm

100K just got me a nice 4 bdrm 2 bath 1500sq ft house with a 22x32 shop (12' ceilings) and a 22x16 garage in a nice neighborhood. I can easily store 6 cars inside.

mynameismud Sat Apr 23, 2005 5:04 pm

3 years ago we moved into a house at the top of the Florida Keys, the realator wanted to sell it to us for $169K (2bed, 1 bath, 1700sf, 1 car garage, 2 lots) and 18 months later they wanted $285K, and now today they want 375K. all in three freaking years, real estate is the only way to go, and now here it's way to expensive to buy, single wide trailers go for $250K+ down here, its really sick.....

ritchiet002 Sat Apr 23, 2005 5:45 pm

We just had a 7000sf vacant lot on our street sell for $430,000! -----NO HOUSE----just dirt

Damn, that's only 0.16 acres

0.5 acre lots in my neighborhood go for $50k. I've seen $600k lots on the waterfront though

Back on topic. Josh pick one bus and get it on the road. My vote ... sell Rita and the pooper.

cris torlasco wrote: Josh, try to get creative with another solution to your problem (like a salary). Separating an original Westfalia accessory from your bus is a bad and irreversible idea, and you will regret it down the road, even if it is a "pooper"...

bitch please, you're just pissed you don't have 3k to get it for yourself!
