This is a short Bosch description of the solder on terminals. Here for the coil-distributor wire.



But I stand corrected. I don't think vw used the rubber sleeve in the production line. Pictures from work shop manuals:

First is not really clear (same as RockStocks) but it looks like the same connection for oil pressure sender/ distributor condenser. Second picture is a better shot of the condenser connection and it's then clear the terminal doesn't use a rubber sleeve.



As the solder on terminal look, it's really easy to mistake it for having an sleeve in the not as sharp workshop pictures

The above are pictures from "383" era engines, here is an updated picture/ page in the workshop manual (VJU4 BR2 or 3 I believe). It looks like the same sleeve-less terminal on the condenser connection (oil pressure sender unfortunately doesn't show)
