Yeee hawwwwww love them trades ... haven't seen any globe IDA manifolds for sale or in swapmeets in years so i think they are a rare bird now.

A friend (steve AKA toucanman) of a friend (rich) hooked me up with this rarest of the rare ... only one i have ever seen other than in the catalog (thankyou my brotha Corey) .... NOS empi clutch lube tool in the box oooohhhhh ahhhhhhh :lol:

Rare and only one I have ever seen NOS DEEP DISH empi universal steering wheel ....... I added the flat 4 hub to make it complete

Original EMPI fiberglass doors. No clue how rare they are but I can't imagine too many sets exist...

Awsome brotha ... i've only seen one other pair in person from my friend Randy on his black oval that he sold to another collector up north. Very cool and I also see the original flat empi fiberglass hood without the tachometer pod which is also rare 8)

NOS empi stock steering wheel in perfect condition .... when empi took new beetles and converted them to GTV's empi would remove the stock wheels and sell them at empi using there boxes giving them their own part/stock# on the box this one is in the correct original box it was packed in. VERY RARE BIRD BRUH !!!!

Went down the hill for an appointment saw an ad for a 1974 super beetle and noticed it has broken Econo frames I figure the guy wouldn't mind selling them to me since they are broken get there and I noticed it had a deluxe leather empi wheel on it but no horn button so I asked if he would sell the wheel and I would put another one on and I just happen to have one along with tools in the truck so he said sure so as I was removing the steering wheel, he was telling me that his mom bought this car brand new at Econo motors in 1974 and him and his brother both learn to drive in it so I looked to my left inside the driver's door pocket and found the Econo motors blue pamphlet looked around a little more and found the horn button under the seat so he said I could have that as well. Another good day in Southern California.

This has been done so many times, anything in the catalog is rare, some stuff more sough after than others. Anything NOS in the package brings the most money
but the EMPI craze has died down, last year it was going crazy, EMPI steering wheels selling for 700-800 for used ones. Gauges selling for astronomical prices around 1500 for a set

they have definetely died down a lot, EMPI stuff is not bringing that much money anymore
supply and demand

Yes I was afraid of that, thus I started selling off my EMPI steering wheels, over the past 10 years, and sold the last one last year!

I think our group of VW enthusiasts are dying off. Not many drive an air cooled anything except a lot of us in this group!
