dwas that clutch on the front of it original or did you add it? |

yeah its the original clutch same as an a/c compressor
initially i had it hooked to a dash switch but in the end i never turned it off
cos u can just drive like a nanna and its running a vaccum and never makes boost anyway
that way u can sink the boot in and have instant power not have to worry about flicking the switch
on the toyota motors they have a manifold pressure switch so the blower only kicks in when u put the engine under a load

Just discovered this site. Must go to sleep. getting late. But these superchargers are what I will dream about!
I want to add compression to my 1915 cc and start to run e85. Any here have a well-developed opinion about this fuel?
Thanks |

mine came off an 88 MR2 but theyre on any 4AGZE motor equiped toyota from about 86 onwards
or the bigger SC14 blower thats on the 2GGZE is another option
they were just to big physically to fit a bug motor tho
i put heaps more info on my home forum thread

| Is all of that weight and tension sitting on the two intake bolts? I can't believe that a leak wouldn't develope with all of that stress at the bottom of the intakes. |

I guess the bigger question is why ! Other than the sheer WOW factor, it seems unnecessary. The only "reasonable" blower setup I've seen like this is a quad rotor setup on race boats. Those engines are pushing 1350 hp and are very large V8's.
I would think with a single blower, you'd get as much boost as your engine would take without the drag on your engine of the second blower.
Isn't one of the knocks on blowers that they suck up a tremendous amount of hp to run? |

And the obvious answer is "why not", followed up by "because you can!"
BTW, twin-supercharged bad-@ssedness:

Thats nice.
Would love to go single but as I dont have the room above the engine in a split I am having to go twins.

that twin screw set up isn't any more unreasonable than some of the turbo setups i've seen on this website....i'm just glad someone is building that. gonna be f-ing awesome a rolling peice of art.
for some people the small hp cost of running a SC is far made up by the feel of power right when you juice it...then when the boost builds you often get another jump. there is lots of cool new technology out there that is just waiting to be mated up with old dub motors. i think we are on the verge of some cool new shit!!
still working on the SC t-1 but heres a pic of something else

that twin SC bug belongs to a fairly well known drag racer around here
i forget what times its running but its fkn quick
theyre the same toyota blowers as i have on my bug
the power they consume to be turned over really is the best part of f**k all.
mines far more responsive than the old blow thro turbo i had on |
