It's hard to see but it has an "S" rear license plate chrome piece.
Not sure why it has a single carb engine in it though.
The VIN # is March, 1964 so it's a '64 for sure
Every 64 Canadian S model type 3 I've owned was a single side draft carb engine and I've owned 3.
This is interesting since I also have a 1964 S (Sept '63 Build) original Canadian car that has a single side draft. I thought it may of been changed but I think it may be original as well. Could support your theory and matches that other '64 posted. |

This is not so much a rant as a chuckle. I recognize the substitute color of this Notch. It is Ford implement primer.
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2695832
It is the same color I am using on my fenders as I try to get ready to do them with the correct L360 Sea Blue. The difference is the painter for this tried to do it as a complete years ago over the correct blue. |

This is not a hit against this poster, but in general
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2682043
I am sort of looking right now for a friend. That said, these are the issues I am facing and this sort of ad does not help. Most of the more interesting cars are in California, which is no surprise. That said. I want more pictures or at least a better idea before I even contact the seller. The Samba is not BAT obviously. But at least with BAT, I know from all angles and closeups where I might want to ask about.
15 foot all around shots do not cut it for me. I want engine bay, wheel wells, Interiors with carpets lifted, Rear window views, Frunk and Trunk AND spare tire base. Those are the core images I want to see, It may be like my Gretchen when I got her almost four years ago. A reverse Clairol commercial, Closer you get, the worse it looks. That is my concern when I see this sort of ad. Yeah, it says it's a barn find, but rust never sleeps, not even in a barn.
At least with this Typ 34, I sort of know what I may face.

well, he does say "no lowballers!" what a maroon
plus, what does "barn find" entail, exactly. Goats n cows and hay are in barns, and they usually have wooden or no floor. no sure thats the best storage solution?
Barn in Arizona means alot different than barn in Maine
there was a squareback on here a few years ago in a barn in upstate new york, and the wheels were sunk into the floor. i dont think it was a good find |

I agree 1000%. If you're posting to sell a car, then post as many pics as you can, preferably up close ones. That T-34 looks a lot like how I got mine, and it was stored outside for years in Iowa. While that blue Notch might be an ok car to buy, I agree the lack of pics hurt it selling. I'd like to see under the trunks, and even some of the floors. I'd like to see pics of the bad as well as the good. Mainly so I know what I'm getting into. |

I'm going to guess you've never listed a car here. Selling a type 3 is a funny thing. I've had some with a good descrip and pictures sell overnight, waking up to multiple full offers. Sometimes you post a good descrip and pics and it's crickets even though it's a great car fair price. You can tell the serious buyers from the pic collectors by what they ask when they email you. It sounds like you're not serious and only looking anyways.
Non-members are limited to 9 pics, his ad has 9 pics... |

I agree with "barn finds", as they can be hit or miss. A friend of mine bought a 69 Corvette that was "parked" in a barn for a couple of years. Needless to say the mice chewed up the wiring, and as low as that car sat the frame needed to be replaced due to the animal crap mixed into the floor of the barn. It really sucked, as it was a nice car before it was parked. |

Wrecked 69 with dual Webers engine/automatic transmission/low back seats!
I bet the drive train is good since it's wrecked in front.

Owner is Tom Basehore, but I don't see the location. |
