It's probably Galpin used cars now, as GM withdrew support for Saturn dealerships in October. |

Dad was a technician and later service (advisor?) manager from the 70's to when they closed in the early 80s. My mother was secretarial something the last year or two.
The big white rabbit moved to Santa Clarita like half of everyone that worked there did. |

Aha! THAT's the name of the Van Nuys (CA) dealer that I couldn't remember in my post from a couple of years ago! And I also remembered that the dealer is Reseda was La Torre VW.
Both were good dealers with very well stocked parts departments, staffed by knowledgable VW fans, not minimum wage dummies.
Kendon Valley was almost across the street from Mad Man Muntz's TV/radio shop. Anyone remember that cat from the early '60s? |

Interesting. My 69's original(?) plate frames read "Dick Joyce" and on the bottom "Roscoe & Sepulveda" |

Wow!
The Holbert family is selling the dealership to the Thompsons of Doylestown (BMW Toyota, Lexus, Scion). I'm not sure if we will become Thompson VW or Volkswgen of Bucks County. Either way it's gonna be the end of an era. The Holberts started with a Porsche dealership in 54 and a VW one in 55. |

Roger Kresge, Inc in its first location is now a bowling alley. In it's second, a Teddy's Road House and a medical office.
In '85 Kresge died in a plane crash. Shortly after the funeral, his wife passed. None of their children were old enough to run the business so it faded away. That certainly places in the top ten of unusual dealership closings, now don't it!
