Perfect! This is exactly what I need, happy to spend a bit extra to have someone available to help me rather than just getting something from a parts warehouse, thanks mlhsquared!

I do not see the open spoke shape in the smaller diameter wheel, but you could buy the one with the three holes and use a grinder to cut it to the teardrop shape.

It's only been 3 years, guess it's time to start working on this again... bought this wheel for Black Friday, just to get some juices flowing again, I need a Carburetor any input as to best quality for price would be appreciated, I'm just going with the stock 1600 setup for now, as anyone familiar with this thread knows I am not an engine guy, don't know wtf to do in that engine bay at all...

Oh NO!...the two renegades return, both on the same day! I'm gonna find a dark room to lay down in.

We're a bit older and probably a lot wiser now John, (I guess that's debatable) which makes you damn near ancient and a lot closer to a full onslaught of dementia, (especially after that recent Birthday!) so, it's probably gonna take something a bit stronger than a dark room and a nap... Maybe a psychotherapist along with a heavy dose of various meds, here's a list to get you started...

Haha...I'm on most of those already Steven...the side effects are horrible.
Brits don't do psychotherapy...those who have problems are thought of as "local colour" or "ageing eccentrics"

I'm hanging around as long as possible as a warning to others.

Good to have you back...should be fun. :)

This is the Scott Sain Ghia that I believe was built by KCW in Grand Junction CO. I think this is really the closest thing to what I am shooting for. He now has fuchs on it and a sidewinder exhaust which enhances the clean look. Now imagine the door lines gone...ultra clean work of art

I just found this thread! I hope you finished the car! I haven't gone to the end pages yet but will in a second! I still drive the crap out of mine!

And I did not build this one at KCW. I did this one here at home in 2001-2002.

Whoa, it's like I was just visited by the God of modded Ghia's... (3 years ago, guess I need to check this thread more often) thanks for the peek at your beautiful ride Scott, mine has been in a container for a few years as life took me on a very different ride for a time... Someday I'll get around to working this thread again! :D

Some of the old timers are still here and remember you Steven and are still prepared to talk to you...despite it all. ;)

You'll have to get that Roadster out of storage next spring, hike-up the ground clearance and drive those dirt roads you're so fond of in style. :D

Uh... Thinking about spending a little time in the Ghia forum in the coming months, is that John Moxon still keeping everyone in line around here?

Uh...uh...someone's prodding me. I was having an early evening nap...oh not YOU again.

How's that roadster...have you finished it yet? It's only been 12 years, most of the regulars here were still at school when you started it.

John, John, John... How many times do I have to tell you it's "the journey" that matters not the destination. If I finished this car I'd just end up in some foggy, English, roadside bog with a camera around my neck and a muddy spaniel mussing up my carpets...

Wut wut? Steve? Back from the dead again? Last time was 11 years ago. Is this more than a second coming? Has the roadster been in the barn all this time?

A lot of water under the bridge. Are you going to stick around? Hope so

Nicholas

Hey Nicholas! Excited to read your thread, yes lots o water under the bridge and as to the roadster... it may as well have been in king Tut's tomb all these years, I've done nothing on it and no one has seen it in over a decade.

Happy to be back! Thanks for the welcome home :D

Hidden treasure. :D

Current resting spot for the Roadster, in front of my art gallery; the 100 year old JC Penney building in Helper Utah.

Hey! When you gonna finish it Steve?

Hey John! Finish? No such word in my vocabulary as I am sure you must be aware by now  But with it staring at me all day every day there may now be some incentive to at least work on it! 8)

unless, as you say, "If you're not seeing something that you want to do to it, then I guess it's done."

=D>

I think a water transfer decal in gold of the Karmann Ghia script on the decklid would finish it off perfectly. :)
