Rear: 30x9.50R15LT

today I verified the timing at 32° But I still have a stumble unless I roll onto the throttle. Maybe the Weber Progressive carb needs some love. Any ideas? Am I expecting to much or just being overly sensitive? Beginning I roll onto the gas, in the end I stab the throttle and you can see the bogg. I just finished verifying the timing so the engine was already warmed up.

009 dizzy?

Do a search on the engine forums (I think) for "progressive". There is a whole multi-page discussion on how to make it right.

Edit: Ahhh....easier than I thought:

If you follow that exactly, it makes the progressive work really nicely, I have done it in steps. If you leave out one step, not as well. Start with the jetting first.

Yes it is the 009 dizzy which appears to be unfavorable with a progressive carb. In driving around the neighborhood I also hear a whistling/whooshing noise when I give gas to it that sounds like it's coming from the air filter. When looking online it says a possible gasket failure. Is this normal?

If I were to replace the dizzy what is recommended? Not into drag racing, just mpg and longevity. Do I NEED to replace the dizzy?

Whoever welded the rollbar was either lopsided or drunk LOL no big deal, just funny. Put front bumper on and painted the bottom of the tub. I have an idea for the front AUX lights that should work out pretty cool. I spent the day cleaning the garage so now it is home to 2 quads, DB, and wife's car LOL.

That pesky title thing has been taken care of!
I cannot thank the PO enough for helping out. Part one of my MPG/better tuning is complete with the sidewinder exhaust install.

Part 2 parts should be here today.

Edit: forgot the pic

I like the look of your buggy. Glad you got the title straightened out. Are you planning on trying to quiet down the sidewinder, and if so, how? The sidewinder is much louder than I thougt it would be. I bought a set of supertrap discs over the winter, but haven't put them on yet. I'm hoping it will mellow out the noise.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks for the kind words!

I have the new intake/carb/distributor installed...ish, just a few minor details like putting the cap on, running plug wires and making sure everything is nice and tight.

The little bit of exhaust sound I've heard from mine didn't seem that loud but I also haven't driven anywhere yet so I guess time will tell. Honestly I never thought about trying to make it quieter. THANKS, now I'm going to be thinking about it

Reminds me of a good/funny tactic to mess with someone in golf; Do you breath in or out on your backswing?

I had to replace the starter and I'm saving up for a new transmission because everything else has been replaced so I'm guessing this one is next LOL.

I've driven it to work for the second day now and it runs MUCH better in the heat (92º) of the day than it does in the cool AM (64º). In the afternoon heat it runs very smooth without hesitation. In the cool morning it has a little hesitation. The I paid extra to have the carb was "setup" by Aircooled.net but have had a hard time contacting them over the phone for assistance. It just seems to be running really rich and it doesn't say anywhere what they did to it. They were supposed to change the jets but I'm not sure to what as I'm having a hard time finding the info.

I have a mystery clunking noise when I go over bumps that sounds like its coming from the drivers side rear. It also sounds like I need to do a valve job because it sounds like a sewing machine.

Lastly and sadly... it drips oil  not a lot but enough to mark the spot of where I have been. I'm thinking of building a new motor at some point just so I can start off with fresh cases. Maybe something that will tote the front wheels a little.

Okay, not lastly but I have been cruising around 60 on the highway and I'm only turning 2500ish RPM. With that being said my first tank of fuel was just under 20mpg. I'm hoping to get it tuned better so that number goes up, that and break the motor in more.

Just curious, what tire/wheel sizes does this have on it? Looks great! Been trying to find a decent tire setup thats staggered but doesnt look Really skinny in the front and SUPER wide in the back :P
