So from the SCA website, it says a 45cm increase in standing height when extended. My tintop interior measures 58" from floor to ceiling (bare steel floor to factory headliner). 45cm converts to around 17". You're looking at 6'-3" interior height. There may be a way to add some additional height by blocking it up with some square tubing. Note, the Reimo may give you more...

Sorry for the late response guys but been on business trip and is currently at Buses by the Bridge. Anyhow there is a strong interest in these poptops at BBB from Mike at Rocky mountain Westy, Seth and Shaun from Syncro fest and every small business man in between. The consenses that everyone wants to mass import these tops into the US market but I think Tencents hits it on the head by saying Reimo only supply to its registered distrubtors. How do you become a Reimo distributer? I have the template lets produce it here in the Stats and make a better version. Who's game? Anyhow to answer some questions, the top provides an additional 22", total stand up room is 6'6".

Thanks for the height figures, guys.

The outstanding issue with these roofs is that they are single purpose - ie they only give extra headroom. If someone is thinking of manufacturing them, can I suggest that you consider making them longer, front to back?

Instead of a nominal 4 foot square, make them 6x4 foot so that there is a two foot deep shelf on top of the van roof when the top is elevated. This would allow the overnight storage of bags, boxes, clothes or whatever that might normally travel on the bed.

That's what I am currently looking for and I have found one in the UK which might just do. However, it wasn't designed specifically for the T3 and, to my knowledge, has never been fitted to one. It also lacks the slimline finesse of the Reimo roof. Have a look here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-T5-SWB-Universal-Easy...23476ac227 for more info.

Hello Everyone,

I may be importing some of these soon if there's enough interest, pm me or you can contact me at [email protected] for more information and get on the list for one. As of now the sale price is $2,000.00 and California Residents pay sales tax. This price does not include freight from CA to you.

Cheers,

Hello Everyone,

We had to move the shipment date to January. Reimo needs 6 weeks to complete my order and that will miss the next container going out in 2 weeks. The next container leaves in January. I will keep you posted. I hope the exchange rate stays the same or the dollar gets stronger, better for us. I will post here again once I get an ETA on the tops. There are a few left that are not spoken for. They going faster than I expected.

Cheers,

I have an estimated arrival date for my order. We are looking at Mid-May. I will update the estimated arrival date if there will be any changes.

Cheers,

Hello Everyone,

The new expected arrival date for the half roofs is late August. Reimo is running behind in production. I will know more in Mid-August.

Just to let everyone know: we (at Dr. Björn's Auto) have imported a bunch of these to our shop on Vancouver Island. Give us a shout if you would like one or anything else Reimo offers

I ended up getting a Westy top for my van. In the end, I went with the most economical choice. I really like the Reimo top though. However, I may still do the Reimo in the future. With that, when I install the Westy top, I will do the small roof hole method, & do it in a way to preserve the original roof structure so I can install a smaller Reimo at a later date.

Does anyone have that small hole Westy Top install link? I cant find it anywhere. I think it was posted by Mark from San Diego.

If anyone gets one of these Reimos, please let us know. I need to confirm the exact cutout footprint before I install my Westy top.

Cheers

EDIT: Or I guess I can PM kryptokat for the instructions in English...

As for the price I do not know exactly. Freight and duty still need to be added. I have quoted $2,000 to $2,200, now I am not sure. I will know when they arrive.

Thank you,

Smiro, any updates?

In another thread, there was some discussion regarding the Westfalia Mosaik DIY poptop kits. I don't think those are made any longer, but the Reimo full poptops seem to still be in production for both the T3 and T4. Have you considered becoming a Reimo distributor, so we could have access to their full catalog of very nice looking tops and interiors? I understand that this would be a very capital intensive proposition, but I think there would be a market for their fine products

Wow, that's really cool. Reimo needs to update their dealer map to reflect that Jeff is now on the team.

Did you find matching colors or did you get it painted? Looks great up there, not a obtrusive size/height when in stored position.

artacoma Wed Oct 19, 2016 7:47 am

I painted it , they come white.

Does the front and/or rear window screen unzip? (Not that I would expect them to). That would make getting items out of front or rear rack easy.
