Hey Aaron, sent you a PM dude.
Chris, the only fresh paint is underneath where everything was first cleaned up with plenty of hard graft and the usual dose of phosphoric acid, then primed, stonechipped and finished in matt grey topcoat to give the factory primer look ...........
and inside where I decided that a clean "factory" look was also going to work best once all the repairs were cleaned up .............
We opted for an original paint cab area though, of course!!!! with the new metal being primed and blended to match the old ..........
and outside the roof was stripped back to its original dove blue, and all the repairs and new metal / donor sections were blended in with primer and some matted down dove blue. The rusty areas need more time to darken up but you get the idea ............
Next job now this old girl is back in shape is the running gear .......... |

WOW Ben! Is the only word I can use at the moment!!?? I've been following your build and let me tell you .......... I'm/we are blown away with your skills, dedication and drive, but more importantly, your passion for this build. And of course, for the buses themselves. Most Yanks wouldn't dare to take on such a beast of a project but for some reason???? You guys across the pond, UK, go mad with the cutting & welding :D Must respect to you, Jeff & Mark. You guys may not see it but this type of build gives people encouragement. I look forward to seeing your bus in person come next year at Hessisch Oldendorf. Maybe have a pint or 4?
Cheers and awesome work!!! |
