flat_six wrote: Awesome - just unbelievable... Every square centimeter of this bus has a story to tell, with expert human hands. Talk about character! Glad to see it closer to rolling down the road.
Might be cool to have a snap of that front axle next time its up.
No worries dude. Here it is after stripping and freshly rebuilding
On the bus.......
And fully functional with genuine VW NOS link pin needle roller bearings and bushes...... .............

Looks great (of course). I love how the INSIDE of the wheel rims are painted, whilst the outside is patina.
Say - are you using copper tubing for the brakes? |

Agreed. Not only have I really enjoyed seeing this bus reincarnated, I have also learned about bendable copper-nickel brake tubes and also researched and learned about "greenlaning" in UK. I want to do that that next time I visit. This BD split certainly looks to be up for the task! |

Hi all! Sorry I've been so slack on here lately. Life has taken over I'm afraid. Anyway the bus is inspected and registered with lots more little jobs completed, so it now has new number plates on :D but the "really great gearbox" I bought keeps popping out of 4th so we're dealing with that right now. I will get more photos up soon I promise!
As for the Tocksfors single cab Gruvborg .... wow that's seen better days but yes of course I'd be up for another project. I am supposed to be in Sweden with a van and trailer in about 6 weeks so PM me some details and i'd love to scrape those remains into he back of the van. It's a big job but that's what I enjoy the most! How great would they look together  I've sent you a PM dude! Thanks for the photos! |
