How exactly are you connecting power to injectors to test them?

It sounds like you also tried connecting a 9 volt battery directly to each injector?

It's the Injectors No work no cerveza

I found that the 4 of them don't work. I tried to ignite them with 9 volts no good 12 volts no good

What could of caused that they malfunction at the same time?

I'm like 😒😂😂😂😂

Negative in negative and positive in positive. Yes one of them was a 9 volt the other one was the car battery. None of them worked. The fuel line was charged with pressure but I didn't measure it when I did test.

Does the fuel hose from filter connect to the fuel rail nipple with arrow pointing "in" to fuel rail?

Using proper safety precautions....

Perform a fuel delivery test. Or at minimum, use a stethoscope or even a card board tube to try and hear if fuel is passing through hose at return connection at fuel tank.

Listen to each injector as voltage is applied. Does the injector make a "click" sound?

Maybe water in fuel caused injectors and/or fuel pressure regulator to corrode and fail and/or block fuel flow. Or, there's a block somewhere else in the fuel system. I can't imagine all four injectors failing.

Fuel is fine already performed that test, the flow out of the return line was very good and when I disconnect the mainline from the fuel rail it always has pressure, like you maybe saw in my previous video the fuel pressure it is very good 55 psi when cranking and 40 I think when not and fuel goes true the fuel rail freely you can even hear the fuel flow freely you can hear the flow true the fuel rail but it's not like a sound of obstruction but of pass true

No, when you connect the injectors you cannot hear that click sound on the 4 of them what I suspect is that most possibly water got in the fuel rail before I did my build because the engine in the junkyard was without protection and without houses and you could even see from what I can remember a little bit of dirt and debris from being exposed to the elements, most possibly water got in them from rain and corroded them. Engine had at least 2 years standing there waiting for me to get her home

Hi Roger.

Yeah I wondered it water might’ve got into rail while engine was in junk yard. Sorry to hear of that.

I’m sure someone in your area would have good used or rebuilt injectors.

It ran!!!!!!!!

Vanagon Nut Sun Apr 17, 2022 5:26 pm

Well done!

New injectors installed?

Hard to say what's causing the run issue at partial throttle.

I installed temporary injectors they fitted right 👍 I'll buy the real deal as soon as I can because the 4 of them were seized. I'm not completely happy with what I placed but hey at least ran for Gods sake! 😂

Tomorrow I'll work on the harness to install it, it already looking so much clean and organized. It's going beneath the back seat

Do you think that the free version of vcds will give me reading of OBD1? Or not at all?

I'm also getting back to the original oil pan because the diesel one was to low because my engine is not at 50 degrees. So changing the pickup tube also.

After that put antifreeze, and see what options do I have to do the muffler. Maybe I go with a temporary one also. I just want to fix to go for tortillas lol 😂

It's a long way for the turbo but I'll get there!

I'm thinking in paint and upholstery

This rig has to reborn!

See you tomorrow I'll upload pics

I get great information, functionality from VCDS on OBD-1, but that's using one of Ross-tech's enthusiast dongles, the 2x2 adaptor, and full VCDS. I think you really need this full package to get, well, the full package.

Vanagon Nut Mon Apr 18, 2022 11:49 am

This might help:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Functions

Scanning for DTC trouble codes can be useful but then there can be several causes behind a given fault code. e.g. 00515:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00515

The Bentley manual DTC section is helpful but the manual also suggests looking for things like vacuum leaks before trouble shooting a DTC.

Also, with engine off, every time you scan for a DTC, VCDS will show a DTC for the RPM sensor. That's normal and ok.

Thanks guys for the replies! I was busy finishing of my rig and this is what we have made progress on: Temporary Mufler, Tow truck experience because I had a bad connection that I made in the battery alternator wiring lol! and now to fix the speedo and temperature gauge. I want to purchase a digital one from glow shift, good experience with those guys so far but I need more miles to confirm there products. Here the pics and video

And to top it off here's a USA freeway test. What a beauty is to use fuel injection coming from a carburetor setup in the past. Now for the turbo!!!!!!

Roger congratulations, I know you have put in the sweat, I'm very happy for you and your family, I know they were enduring while supporting!
Let the trips begin~

And so it is Dkoesyncro! This photos represent the hard effort of making it happen in times of crisis and uncertainty in the pandemic. Finally we are on the other side and enjoying and missing who are no longer with us.

Baja California México Rocks!

And now for the fun part to continue... More goodies in the mail!

nice work!!

I really like the size of that Hyundai/KIA muffler. I wonder if it's a resonator or an actual muffler. I could use something like that on my van, and one I'm prepping to swap.

uberaudi Mon May 02, 2022 8:33 pm

Awesome Roger! Way to make it happen!

The muffler guy told me that it was a resonator but who knows, it sure sounds like a powered motorcycle or an airplane lol :D :D :D :D

It sure sounds cool but I prefer to run more silently because of the trips to the mountains, I wouldn't want to miss taking a photo of some deer or mountain lions!

He told me that if I put the muffler after that resonator it would quiet the sound even more so I'm going to try it. He has these weldable supports with rubber mounts that are very practical instead of going with the cool and expensive real supports. I bought the Magnaflow SS muffler from Van cafe ill post a video of the sound after I install it. It was funny how the stock muflers from these vendor are actually more expensive than this Magnaflow muffler.

Thank you everyone for your encouraging comments it sure helps with the excitement of having a more functional van than I joust to have

Hey Roger.

Very cool that your ABA is driving now. Way to go!

thanks Nut for the words of motivation!

Results of this conversion with a few words is that if Ive known better I would of gone for another engine. However this is the engine that was previously was built with and I felt confortable with.

I am doubtful if I would go for the turbo path as I have heard that you have to have the internals beefed up for that heat like forged pistons and rods plus a camshaft and maybe a chip? Oh and was forgeting the inyectors... Could the engine hold? Could the engine stand that heat?

I dono

Until your next comment Ill stay studiying options

Lets keep traveling!
