The ones at OCTO this weekend have the warning in German as well as English. I'll post a pic later.

You probably got a cheap imitation of the ones posted in this thread.

It sticks to the top half of the bus and to the refrigerator. Not anywhere on the bottom half. Red restoration paint must be really thick. They look pretty good, and were snapped up in no time at $60 a pop.

Just a clarification - the ones at Octo this year were not mine. In case there are any future quality issues with the Octo versions I dont want them to be confused with mine.

I have only done 2 that had english and german. If I remember correctly they both went to Europe.

Speaking of which, any plans on making more? I would like one.

Maybe it was posted in this thread somewhere but usually signmakers will "insure" that customers know that these magetized signs can ruin a paint job, especially clear coated ones, if the sign is left on the vehicle paint surface and moisture collects under it. It'll make the spot turn cloudy and you'll probaly not correct it. If you have one, just remove it when you're not driving or when you're driving in rain.

The original poster is offering a great product at a reasonable price.

I'm also in the sign biz, BTW. Barnabus, I may steal your design for my own bus in a RTA decal

the one in my pearlwhite left some smalls rust spots under it after a long time I didn't removed... Now I remove every time after a drive. The paint is a cheap respray though

Hi Wally,

I have only heard about a couple of people out of hundreds that have had any problems with the magnet and their paint. My own experience (and several of my friends) is that the magnet is only put on the vehicle for a road trip. I dont leave it on the bus for fear that one of the thieving bastards out there would get hold of it.

But I must also point out that if anything ls left on paint for too long wether it be leaves, plastic or the wrong kind of car cover it will mar the paint.

I have toyed with a "Care and Feeding of your Magnet" handout that ships with the mags. I just have not had time to put it together.

As you are a sign maker It makes no sense to purchase one from me. All I ask is that if you are going to begin selling them come up with your own design + concept so they are not confused with mine.

I take it off and stick it on the inside roof of my Kombi, or the freezer door in the garage when not in use.

Ollie....RULE #1 "never steal for commercial purposes".

If you go to the following PDF link you'll find good instructions to give your customers. or for other folks who are using mag signs.....

Wally

I agree with this item except for the "Store your sign rolled up on end, with
printing facing out, so that flat spots won’t develop." bit. Doing that is asking to have problems, since it stretches the vinyl coating and exposes the back side to contamination. The only way to store individual magnetic signs is on a flat, preferably vertical steel surface such as a refrigerator or the side of a filing cabinet.
