I don't think Airhead Parts sells new door hinges for low light Ghias. They do have "good" used hinges for low lights.

Hey brother. I noticed that as well. They advertise them
As late 59- ,,, my thought was “is the only difference the check strap area as for as them bolting to the car the same as mid 59 and earlier?”

⬆️⬆️⬆️. The used ones they have are all over the road in price. But if you do have any it’s definitely a good option.

There is something so satisfying about bolts a pan to its chassis. All the bolts fit nicely. ☑️🏁

But is not always flowers and butterflies, now that body is firmly secured down I can dive in to sorting at the issue I’m having with the decklid fitting so poorly.

(Yes…. The period correct hardware will be present when the car goes into final assembly)

I was hoping you had "mock up" hardware. My pan washers are powder coated and my bolts are cad plated. They are "one time use" when it goes back to gether.

Yes, you can use the aluminum hinges on a low light. VW started to integrate the aluminum hinges at the end of low light production. My original paint May of 59 Ghia has aluminum hinges. VW started to integrate 60 parts into the assembly line at the end of the low light run. Another example is the padded sun visors that were installed on late 59 low lights.
