I know we have a 'favorite rock bands' thread, but what I wanna know is who you think is the greatest and/or your favorite rock singer, as well as some runner-ups, if ya got 'em.

The singer can be in a band, or a solo name, but it's the singer here, not the band.

I'll start.

Robert Plant <boom> (Led Zeppelin)

Runner-ups, in no particular order:

Phil Collins
Joe Elliot (Def Leppard)
Don Henley (Eagles)
Mickey Thomas (Jefferson Starship)
Fee Waybill (The Tubes)
Peppi Marchello (Good Rats)
Lou Gramm (Foreigner)
Jon Anderson (Yes)
Bob Seger

I saw them a coupla times at My Father's Place in Roslyn right around 1980. At one show, when he threw a rat out into the crowd, me and a huge guy caught it and I managed to dislodge it from his grip haha (I still have it). Then years later I saw Peppi with his son's version of the Good Rats at a local hole-in-the-wall in Massapequa.

Mike Patton of Mr Bungle and Faith No More. One of my favorite rock vocalists. Not to be confused with favorite frontman. Mike has a 6 octave vocal range.

If you’re not familiar. Here you go.

Cool topic!
Steve Perry formerly of Journey has always been a favorite.
Gordon Lightfoot comes in a close second although a bit of a different genre.
