1960 Porsche Super 90 Barn Find, Race History+ Price: Sale Pending
|
1960 Porsche 356 T5 Super 90 Race Car, Swedish Race Legend Anders Josephson's Old Car, 112111
This incredibly cool genuine barn find has a remarkable story of how it has spent the last 64 years on Earth. It was originally ordered and owned by internationally famous driver, Anders Josephson, who raced the car (chassis number 112111) in at least a couple races during the 1960 season as is noted by data on Racing Sports Cars. He was a big name in Northern Europe and a red 1965 911 he owned now resides in the Maxted Page collection in the UK.
Josephson sold the car on December 6th, 1960 to the notorious Porsche race car driver, Tore Elvesjö, who raced it in at least a few races as well.
It is believed that the engine and transaxle were changed in 1963 which was common for a car that was used for its designed sports purpose.
Fast forward to 1969 and the car was sold to a Swedish woman who worked in a high fashion store in a small town in Sweden. She wanted a special and elegant car for her short commute to and from the shop. It served as her daily driver from 1969 until 1971 when she sold the car to her brother, Kenth Lundström, who remarkably never drove the car, as he did not have a driver's license! The car was parked in their dry Swedish barn, with just 64,000 kilometers showing on the odometer, and has only now been uncovered and liberated from that barn where it sat peacefully for more than the last 50 years!
The story doesn't end there! As if this isn't already an interesting specimen, how about if we told you that it also features 60mm GT brakes and GT steel/alloy riveted wheels, too? Yes, they are all dated 1960 and are most certainly part of its early race story.
Other features to note include:
*Slate Grey Paint
*Solid Unwelded Body with "111" clearly stamped on hood, doors, and decklid
*Completely Original Interior
*Factory/Dealer Undercoating intact, no rust showing
*Comes with Kardex recording Josephson as original owner
*Original Title showing sale from Josephson to Elvesjö in 1960
*Vintage Race-related Decals present from its early years including Nürnburgring and Grand Prix Monaco
*We also have a PDF file of some of the pertinent early 1960's race entry info on this car we can share with seriously interested parties
This incredible Super 90 is being offered as it is, truly barn fresh, with a fresh set of Michelin tires just installed, and is ready for your choice of preservation or restoration. We are confident that you will agree that it will be remarkable in either fashion. Thanks!
