The genuine Bosch SVDA 034 distributor is an OEM version of the vacuum-advance Bosch 0 231 170 034 / VW 043-905-205, federal model distributor that came stock from the factory on the 1974 VW Beetle with 1600 engine and manual transmission. Perfect for use with the 34PICT carburetor. This distributor requires a vacuum source from the carburetor or throttle body (when used with fuel injection). Uses standard Bosch distributor cap, rotor, etc.
These distributors fit 12-volt, air-cooled Volkswagens, except later models with factory electronic ignition and 1974 and earlier Bosch fuel injection systems triggered by contacts in the bottom of the distributor.
The Bosch SVDA 034 vacuum-advance distributor helps to eliminate the acceleration "flat spot" common with the Bosch 009 distributor.
Includes cap, rotor, O-Ring and everything you need - no external ignition box required.
Coil Required: Coil should have 1.5 Ohms or more primary resistance. Stock Bosch coil, Bosch blue coil or HS15HEC high-energy coil OK.
