This Item has been Asked for for sometime. After Camping in the Smokey Mountains in Snow I decided to go ahead and make one up. This is what I came up with. It is simple to install. Takes about 5 minutes to put up and or Take down. Great thing is you can do it in the comfort of your Vanagon. So if you get to where your going and the weather is total Crap, just pop the top snap in the Thermal and your ready to go.
You will have to install stainless steel snap studs into the Lip of the Pop top interior. There are 17 snaps to install into the edge of the Pop top. This is the only install for this item. you will have to drill and screw in the studs to install. This item comes in only Ivory for the interior color and Beige or Gray.
This Product is a 5 Layer Quilted Thermal, Radiant, Vapor Barrier, Noise Control. It will increase your pop top insulation to a R-8 to R16 Value. The Thermal will Reduce the Heat loss by up to 200%. Your heater will not kick on as often and this will take care of the largest area of heat loss other then the windows. I do recommend getting a small fan to blow and keep the air temps the same in the camper. It will get very hot upstairs since all the heat will rise to the top.
Folds up to the size of a thick pillow or if you want you can fold it up and stow it behind the upper bunk cushion up stairs when the bed is folded.
