Roller throttle tube kit. This is a kit to get rid of that ugly hole in your vw bugs fan shroud, and make your crossbar linkage work without the cable chewing up the tube/shroud. Components are made from 6061 T-6 aluminum, and stainless steel. It mounts to your shroud with a supplied screw. Kit includes the tube/roller assembly, mounting hardware, and a instruction sheet.
All components made right here in the USA.
Every crossbar linkage I have seen has the issue with the linkage not lining up with the stock hole in the fan shroud for the throttle cable. This major misalignment chews up tube and shroud and makes for a hard pedal etc. This kit fixes this problem and makes for a smooth operating linkage.
If you look at the pictures above you will see the original design that my Dad and I made years ago (about 1998) it was ugly but it worked very well, it only had two issues one it was ugly and two if you worked the throttle by hand back at the linkage the cable would jump off the pulley. When I redesigned it I made the pulley so the cable centers itself on the pulley.
******I have added a few upgrades. First I added a Teflon bushing on the other end of the tube. I have not had any complaints about chafing here but I thought it would be a good upgrade. For anyone that already has a roller tube and wants the Teflon bushing upgrade feel free to contact me. I have also added a weld in nut that can be mounted inside the shroud it will allow for a 8-32 machine screw to be used to mount the tube. A stainless 8-32 is also included. The nut can be welded in or glued in with 3M structural adhesive. For those that want to mount the roller tube to a assembled engine I still include a stainless sheet metal screw to mount the roller tube........Joe*********
