The internal power supply of the Sony XM-554ZR Power Amplifier is modified to operate in 6 Volt systems. The Sony XM-554ZR Power Amplifier combines form and function in a mix that will make your system look and sound great. On the outside, the sleek inverted heat sink keeps vital internal components running cooler and lasting longer. Removable terminal covers keep all the wire connections protected and out of sight for a clean looking installation. Equipped with high pass and low pass selectable filters and a MOSFET power supply to ensure superior performance in your 6 Volt system.
It comes with all the accessories and documentation provided by the manufacturer.
The modified amplifier provides two 12 V outputs. The 12 V output provides head unit power or an iPod, MP3 player, CD player, Cassette player or Satellite Radio from a DC-to-DC converter with maximum output of 1 Amp. The Amplifier 12 V Accessory output is switched off when the Amplifier remote is off, which is used to control the CD player remote power (accessory) input. This feature shuts off the head unit with the ignition switch, but maintains the memory so all your settings will not be lost.
A toggle switch or the ignition switch may be used to turn on the amplifier and head unit using the remote terminal. The modification was tested form 5.5 to 7.2 volts, it sounds fantastic.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for that, splitting the stereo signal into two fronts and two rears made a big difference. The two front speakers (Sony 16cm 3-Way Speakers, 40W Rated power) sound sweet.
Im stoked to be getting all of this from a 6V battery though!
