I’m hoping to make it, I’ll be living in Auburn New York for the summer so reasonably close to the invasion. I’ve been driving my Squareback again to work out the bugs.

OK...time to start getting folks revved up for the Invasion. We are just a little over 14 weeks away from the invading Ticonderoga, NY! I have some work to do on the Invasion website and I need to start getting pre-orders for the shirts in so I have time to have them printed up. Need to start rounding up donations and items for the charity silent auction. Plan and make the awards. Lots of little things...

I also have work to do on both Jill's Type 34 Ghia and on my 66 Squareback to get them ready for the trip.

Going to be a blast. Looking forward to caravaning out there and getting back together with old friends and making new ones.

Hello Invaders,

I am really looking forward to meeting the new folks and getting together with old friends. Hard to believe we are just less than 2 months away from invading Ticonderoga.

We have a few things to ask that will help us from a planning standpoint….

1. Please let me know if you plan to arrive early enough for the Early-bird Get-together on Thursday evening and how many will be there. We are still working out the details and having some rough attendance numbers will be helpful.

2. We also always have a Saturday night dinner together. Again, please let us know if you plan to attend and how many. Details and cost still TBD.

3. Finally, I will be placing the order for the Invasion t-shirts by Mid-May. If you are interested in buying a t-shirt or 2 or more, please let me know sizes and quantities so that I can make sure to order enough of each size. No pre-payment is necessary and there is no obligation to buy them should you change your mind. It just makes it easier for me and Jill if we can have them pre-sorted and bagged up for folks ahead of time. I will order extras also. Price for the shirts will be $15 with at least $4 from each shirt going to the Invasion charity.

Wow! Just over 5 weeks to go until we invade Ticonderoga, NY. Hope eveyone's preparations are going well. I have started both Sophy and Jill's Type 34 Ghia already, but still need to do a shake down run, change the oil and check the valves...maybe a few other minor things.

I was up in Ti last weekend and things are looking really nice up there, even a guy out mowing the lawn in front of the stone house.
Our Early Bird dinner will be at 6PM at Eddies Place, 68 NYS Route 9 (the Hague rd) about 5 minutes south of Ti.

Over the next few weeks Ill note some things to check out and do in Ti while your there. First off, on the way to Eddies is a rather interesting Junque shop
Right on the side of the Hague rd, Lonergans, lots of old stuff in there, hardware and revolutionary war collectables. Be nice for them to see a different Squareback
Stop in after seeing the same one every summer for the past 35 years or so. Owner is a bit of a car nut, he’s into Mercedes.

If you’re a cat person, be sure to stop in Aubuchon Hardware right next to Bicentennial park and say Hi to their two.

Please let John know if you plan to attend a dinner so I can give them a head count, will set up the Saturday night dinner this week.

HI all,



If anybody is looking for something especially late T3 let me know, I can check my collection and it can mysteriously show up

In the auction, probably 80% of the collection is eligble! There is a lot of stuff im willing to donate, even some sheetmetal, LMK what your looking for.
Some of the early interior stuff and the sunroof assy wont show up in the auction but I can still deliver it to the invasion for anybody that is interested. I also have a stack of rims that will be going to the recycler soon, some early T1 and 2 as well, all can show up in the auction if somebody wants it.



I will have the Front end parts along as I'm doing the tech session again and also the FI connector inserts and gasket material for making fuel pump gaskets, bring some scissors and cut off what you need.



More things to do in TI:



Just a wee bit down the road from Bicentennial park is a great place to do a photoshoot if you have kids, tell them you want a picture of them by the Fort and when you go to the REAL fort and they ask.. THEN you can reveal that "Concrete fort" was actually the sewage treatment plant! I've had fun with this over the years as the plant is shaped just like a fort!



If your camping, and cooking yourself, a good portion of the steaks in Walmart are, believe it or not, Restaurant quality! There aren't enough restaurants around to use all the available beef so guess what? Some fantastic BBQ opportunities!
