I'm sure this has been covered but I'm having trouble searching it.

What does everyone do for audio systems?

I'm starting from scratch, no radio or speakers, amp etc yet.

I'd love a single din radio with at least 2 speakers in the front kickpanels, a sub in the back and an amplifier.

I'm thnking 6 1/2 rockford fosgate in the front, what amp and subs are people running these days/

I haven't done a decent system in a car since the early 90's.

I’m using Fosgate amps for fronts, rears and subs.
Capacitor so the lights don’t dim to the beat.
90 amp alternator for power.

Whoa Jeffrey, that's quite awesome.

I'll have to step up my game I guess.

So far I have the 90 amp alternator.

Stream from my smartphone to a bluetooth speaker on the passenger seat.

I’m surprised Bluetooth was an available technology the last time you drove an ACVW Wink

You didn't. Yah you did! d'oh!

For what it's worth. I do the same with the Bluetooth speaker. But place it in the middle of the back seat. I think the acoustics are better. Thumbs Up

The amp is under the seat, went with a marine amp due to sometimes it may get damp in the buggy.

The two woofers are behind the driver seat and backed with PVC caps and vented.
Two 6x9s 3 ways are under the dash
Two tweeters are on the dash by the windshield
and two two way box speakers mounted behind the roll bar-these provide the most sound for the passengers.
This all gets it's sound signal from a bluetooth dongle next to the steering column on the dash board and connected to my smartphone, the black thing on the left side.

Not the most expensive or highest quality sound components, but gets the job done at 100kph.

I've been out of the car audio game for longer than I care to admit... Embarassed Please elaborate about this "dongle".

One of these years i'll downsize from a house with a garage to a smaller place where the exterior is not my responsibility. By then it needs to be gone.

If it weren't for the tire kickers, I would of passed it on already to someone else who can enjoy it.

Then use a miniplug to RCA for input into the amp.

For my 1969 Beetle, I went with the RetroSound Long Beach unit that closely resembled my original Saphire IX radio. It pairs with my phone automatically for music and hands free calls.

For the front, I went with Rockford Fosgate Prime 6.5" 3 way 45W speakers mounted in Glass Action kick panels.

For the rear, I went with Rockford Fosgate Prime 6x9 3 way 65W speakers mounted in an oak plywood luggage shelf.

I didn't use any other amplifiers or sub, and the sound is good enough for my old ears.

Looks great!
How much room did you have behind the kick panels from Glass Action? I bought cheap EMPI ones and there's not even two inches behind for the speaker depth.

Also, how did you mount the fire extinguisher?

There wasn't too much room left between the magnets and the body. I mounted the panels with heavy duty velcro. The velcro and carpet on the panel gave me another 1/4clearance, lol. I also trimmed and tweaked the kick panels quite a bit to get them to fit around my heater/defrost levers.
My fire extinguisher is mounted by four bolts through the body.

I had a dead radio in my '60 Beetle (not a VW/Blau/Motorola one, something aftermarket but period correct, made in Canada).

I found a 6v Bluetooth transceiver with amp on eBay for $10, took the radio apart and put the eBay guts inside. Sound quality isn't incredible but it's nice to be able to stream music from my phone, radio is a repetitive mess where I live, and it looks like it belongs.
