When installing a front disc brake kit I ran into a problem. My 4 lug Sprintstar wheel is rubbing/brushing against newly installed Varga/TRW caliper. The critical point is the outside edge of the little "bump" or "nipple" visible on the pic. Is it safe to grind a little bit off the caliper? What is hiding behind that little bump? What is a safe clearance between caliper and wheel/rim?

Thank you.

I had a bit of interference with my 4 lug sprintstarshitting my caliper too. I think it was the spot your referring to. I ground mine down just enough to clear and it worked out fine.
