i need to know where to find the engine code, i have a 73 bus with the 1800cc motor which is out of a 74 vw. Autozone said there were 3 different codes for this year....

Wow, they didn't look at you like you were driving a model T? Plugs and wires are all the same for a type 4 engine.
The code (2 letter prefix) is on the top of the case between the breather tower and the fan shroud. Or save yourself the greasy dig and tell them it's an AW.

plugs: debatable. i like Bosch W7CC (W 175 T2 old designation), but read these:

don't you have any VW shops nearby that know what they are taking about, rather than dealing with the mentally challenged who only know how to punch computer keys behind the counter at autozone? what are you going to say when they ask how many cylinders it has, or if the vehicle has air conditioning, 2 wheel drive or 4? they are just plugs everyone has them..... autozone gives me 10% off cause im a firefighter so when i can get the same part from them id rather go through the little hassel then pay twice as much at the foreign part shop....... thanks for the help
