looks like a schwimmerwagon to me, although it seems to be missing the "schwimming" gear. _________________ Mike "Delamaize"

His non-attention to detail really sets it apart. I see a new trend.......call it " 'tard ride". |

yes, it's a schwimmwagen! if you think of the afrikakorps it is not impossible a schwimmwagen stayed in the area and "drove" on to egypt.
still a fantastic find! |

What a Great find. Fantastic. If it is raelly an original car of the German Afrika Korps? Who knows, but as far As I Know, the German Wehrmacht never used Schwimmwagen in Africa - no original Documents exist.
But in the 1960s, some Expeditions organized by reserchers started from. Germany direction to Africa. And the cars were left there.
Please try to get more informations of that Great find. |

My friend had an Schwimmwagen that was shipped to Italy in desert yellow paint, so it would come as no surprise that Schwimmwagens were used by the Afrika Corps. Logically, how else would you explain a Schwimmer in Egypt?
This is another treasure of the Nile. I'm surprised Ashraf hasen't found a Kubelwagen yet. (Anyone want to bet he will?) _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
