Would be good to see some detailed pics of the car. I wonder if it really is a '40 chassis. |

Thats an awful lot of cash to get 60's wings and post 53 bumpers even from that 1 pic! But it could be an illusion? as the wheels and tyres are very cool and MASSIVE! _________________ Anna.

It is possible that they builded it up in 1946 on a ´40 chassis but that would have to be prooved at the car.
Well what ever chassis, what I see on the pic seems not to be worth half way that price. _________________ Master of my domain! |

You beat me too it. Usual crap, someone posts a split for sale for an eye popping prince, and it has obvious wrong parts on it. Makes you wonder what else is incorrect on this $87,000 split. _________________ John Henry

Do you have a thing for - the arteest formally known as "prince"? Seems like "it" might have some wrong parts on "it" too. "It" is kind of "eye-popping" tho'

Oh duh. Firefox spell checker didn't catch that one. Maybe because it didn't know how to suggest a symbol as an alternate spelling.... _________________ John Henry

It's only a record price if somebody pays it.
Hey, I have an idea! Let's throw up a picture of a random car for sale so we can all tear it to shreds for sport.
Oops ... too late ... |

The car belongs to a Volkswagen dealer in Göttingen before. who hat a small collection of interesting cars. The company was sold and most of the collection went to a professional dealer next to Göttingen. The car is everything else, but not as old as the seller exapt. The Chassis with the early number is a regular split one, the body is a mid 1949 with small gastank and papered glove-boxes. You can think and talk about the car what you want - but you can't say that the car has the wrong taillights as most of the "restored" cars of these years...
I have pute some pictures of the car a got last summer into the gallery... |

Regards

Well that is one solution to the difficult 49 taillight problem! _________________ Anna.

There is no "sport" in this one. Its like shooting a chained Moose.
$87k and you don't get matching bumpers or any taillights. Takes "crack smoking" to a new level IMO.
So if the pan is a "regular" split, and the body a '49, what exactly makes this guy think that this car is a '46?? Maybe he just has a title like the guy building the "'48 Rat Rod" ?? _________________ John Henry
