I was kind of expecting a ladder install. Is it really that easy?

A picture really is worth a 1000 words...all you need is 13mm wrench and 13mm socket...and about 15 mins.

Its VERY light...strong...and well made too...

So you hang it on the gutter and there is a bracket that clamps it on and the bottom bolts to-?

It has a bottom pin that sticks thru the wheel jack pos/holet, and uses a clevis pin to secure it .

So let me get this right, you have bought a ladder that permanently fixes to the side of your van?

Nope all I have to do is pull the clevis pin out of the bottom and it swings out of the way.

But I gotta ask...who in the world uses that Mickey Mouse factory scissor jack?

I'm running 17" tires, and 2 " lift. with one inch spacers in on the back coils..

I use a 4" wood block and a 4 ton bottle jack from Wal-Mart and a , Gorilla Wrench off of eBay.

So I'm not worried...

next on my list is the RCM rear tire mount.

Why wouldn't I ....I carry 75 lb kayaks on top, and I'm not going to carry a step ladder around with me that is going to get in the way...

I'm 6' 1" and still have a hard time loading boats...and in the rain its worse...now I can get on the top of the van much easier and not use the passenger door to climb up on top of the van.

It's a 2 wheel drive van without a locking diff. It's not going off road...besides I do enough body work fighting VW rust...let alone tree rubs and rock rash...

Nice looking!!

I was going to put an old Ford camper van aluminum ladder on the side, but this one is looking better specially with that gutter clamp.

I'm thinking making one with PVC Schedule 80 fittings, cheap and way strong enough Laughing

hmmm, been trying to figure the ladder thing out for a while...temped by the RMW ladder but I need to access both side of the truck...surfboards on one side and a roof box on the other.

Wondering if a 3' or 4' step ladder I keep in front luggage rack might work better. It wouldn't look as good, that ladder look's awesome.

Is anyone worried about the stress on the raingutter? ....or does the bottom jack mount handle the bulk of the load?

I looked at this for my Syncro, but instead I am going with permanently mounted steps that fold up and stay up until I pull them down.
Any ideas on best place to mount?
