Not air cooled - it doesn't have the built-in metal vents in the D pillar. |
Am I missing something? I am not seeing the lower grill opening? _________________ SF

not missing anything.
it's an 82-83 aircooled.
only the 80-81s had the rear metal upper vents.
they went with plastic in 82 w/diesels so all chassis recieved it. _________________

I'm curious how the rear hatch got opened? Was someone working on it because it stalled in that spot? Obviously the hatch closed later when the struts eventually melted their seals and depressurized, but it's clearly open during the video.

I cried a little.
I carry two. One between the passenger seat and the slider, at floor level, and another next to the engine bay. This one is bigger than the other, and rated for oil fires.
I'm paranoid enough to seriously consider second-hand fire sensors in the engine, connected to a CO2 bottle. I mean, we had them on the Abrams' in the Army, and CO2 should be a good substitute for Halon..... _________________ 1990 Feldjäger Syncro AAZ

Some folks lift the hatch, then the engine cover to try to put a fire out. Maybe that's the case here?

One in the stock location next to the slider, behind the passenger seat; and a bigger one behind the driver's seat (so I can grab it as I jump out). _________________ ~Kamz

Kids and their low riders....
that mercedes convertible is going to be $$$ pricey
bet that's not what they were expecting when they pulled into the visitor parking spot.
and any older car with high pressure lines is a potential bonfire.
had the oem high pressure hose on our 92 cabriolet slip it's fitting at the injector rail, noticied it when I was checking the tire and there was gasoline dripping down the back of the engine.. across the exhaust manifold.. thought it smelled gassy _________________
