T3 Automatic 003 Trans Questions

1. Will the torque converter drain down fluid if not used for a few years? I will be draining my trans a 003 to replace the pan gasket. I used it to test a motor and another trans 2 years ago and dropped the oil so will the standard refill of 3.9 quarts fill it as I do not have a dipstick. anybody have a spare that wont cost me a $100.00?

2. does the type 3 with the IRS, only use the front mount on the trans and the two off of the crossbar on the rear of the motor?

The type 3 mount on my chassis was there when I got it, it was the start of a trike build and it mounts to the sides of the trans. I plane on using my 75 type 2 1800 Eng. and mount bar as well as the mounts on the trans if motor mounts are avabley for the trans. thank you for any help.

Do you have the Bus rear hanger bar?
It supports the rear of the engine and is essential but can be custom made.
Crawl under a Bus or Type 3 to see what you are missing!
Buy a Bus or Type 3 IRS body and build it correct?

The swing arms and torsion bar assemble and the trans are type 3, grafted to a 69 type1 pan. I will be making a center mount for it but I was just asking if the T3 had center mounts like the bus so I could use stock mounts. I have the bus rear motor mounts and bar. I have to build a complete rear cage and frame for it

Both engines should have 3 tapped holes to mount the hanger bar.
Empi does make an adapter if your block doesn't have the correct tapped holes.
You can buy new hangers with rubber bushings that hang from the body in the rear on a Type 3.
Type 3 doesn't have center mounts for an automatic transmission.
Take some pictures underneath a squareback to know what you need to build.

As far as the torque converter, it won't drain just sitting there. When I did my engine conversion, I added a mid mount.
