The newspaper says "It appears there was a malfunction in the vans heater".
I doubt anyone was running a gas heater today (25 Celcius). _________________ 1982 Air Cooled Vanagon Carat Weekender Interior

Why?
Maybe that's where the fire started. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Gas tank is in the front, it would be a good idea to cool the whole thing down. You can't just put the fire out and walk away. _________________ Tencentlife said,

Sorry to see the loss.
Changing fuel lines, rails and the bulkhead spigot is highly recommended.
So is carrying a fire extingusher properly rated for automobile fires.
If you are OK and away from the vehicle, it must really suck to watch your van burn.
